My friend Donny is a hard working American, self employed and capable of doing just about anything. He also is talented with his camera. Donny has provided several images to me which have inspired paintings including: “Never Give Up” and “Donny’s Work Truck & Sheila.”
I get inspiration for many paintings from photos posted by my friends to social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram. This acrylic painting is based on a selfie photo Donny took. He was visiting his family in Pittsburgh for a wedding and was with friends at a tavern Donny describes as the tackiest dive in town when he snapped this shot in the mirror. The title “Looking Good, Donny” suggested itself.
