An assignment for the final class was to bring in one of our earlier paintings for a lesson on finishing touches, making just the right highlights and creating focus features. So in order to have something to “finish up,” in about 45 minutes on that afternoon before class I commenced to paint the initial form of these wildflowers based a photo I took on May 29, 2014 near the Barton Creek Zilker trailhead. In class, the instructor said it was mostly finished and all I needed to do was darken the background a bit to highlight the colors, which I did.
