Oglesby, Swinney, & Kehoe
After Hours Party at Wheeler Brothers Gallery, Valentine’s Day 2008

Jeff Kehoe and I have produced several music-related events and parties featuring the best of legendary Lubbock musicians.

On one occasion in 2008, we organized a fund-raising after-party in relation to a benefit concert for our now late friend pianist Doug Smith, who had been paralyzed due to a one-car accident. The event was Valentine’s Day and was held at the Wheeler Brothers Gallery on North University Avenue, Lubbock Texas USA.

The subject of this painting was a moment at the party when singer-songwriter Cary Swinney and Jeff thought this painting by Jeff Wheeler was just hilarious to stand in front of and pretend to be in the painting.  I believe they thought it was way more funny than I did, though i did appreciate the sentiment. It was a very fun party.
