This painting was inspired by a beautifully shot photograph by Dan Winters taken for a Smithsonian Magazine article written by Al Reinert entitled “Lone Star” in the Jan-Feb 2016 edition, pp. 100-101.
This painting is a modern still-life featuring a classic central Texas barbecue lunch: smoked sausage, white bread, and a Big Red soda.
