For those not in the music business, the term backline is the equipment that stands behind the band on stage, including amplifiers for guitars, bass guitars, drums and keyboards. When producing a music show, a frequent question is, who will provide the backline: the band or the venue. This painting was inspired by a photo by musician Parker Millsap of  backline for his band. I booked Parker Millsap on a Groovy Sunday gig early in his career, and now he plays to large audiences and music festivals.
